MacTassos - Glasgow

I fell in love with gyros almost three years ago after having one at the famous Glasgow Christmas market. Ever since then every time the opportunity arises to get my hands on one I’m right at the front of the line. MacTassos recently opened a venue in the Buchanan Galleries food court, and of course I couldn’t resist the urge to have another of these staple Greek snacks. For those that haven’t been blessed with the chance to try a gyro I’ll break them down a little bit. Meat from a rotisserie (often lamb, chicken, pork or a mix) is stuffed inside a flatbread or pitta alongside tomato, onion, tzatziki sauce, and often fries. Not convinced yet? Take a look at this: This gyro from MacTassos was filled with pieces of tender and crispy seasoned chicken, tomato, red onion, tzatziki sauce and fries.
